More than an income for later

For you and for them

If you pass away while you are accruing pension with us

For your partner

If you pass away, your partner receives an income from us. This is the partner’s pension. The amount will be a percentage of your salary at the moment you die. Your partner receives this every month, for as long as he or she lives. Sometimes there is also a temporary partner’s pension. Your partner receives this until he or she reaches state pension age (AOW).

Did you accrue a partner’s pension with us before the move to the new rules? That partner’s pension stays in place. Do you die while you are still accruing pension with us? Then your partner receives the partner’s pension under the new rules and the partner’s pension you already accrued.

Do you live with a partner? Register your partner >

Good to know: if you leave your job, you stay insured for the partner’s pension for 6 months. After that, it stops. Do you start working somewhere else? Then this pension is often arranged again with your new pension provider. Or you can choose to continue the partner’s pension with us.

For your children

If you pass away, there is also a benefit for your children. This is the orphan’s pension. Your children receive this until age 25. The amount is a percentage of your salary at the moment you die. Stepchildren and foster children are also entitled to this.

How much are the partner’s pension and orphan’s pension?

In November 2026, you will receive an overview with amounts. This also shows an estimate of the partner’s pension and orphan’s pension. Check what is arranged now at mypgbpensioen.nl.

If you become occupationally disabled while you are accruing pension with us

You continue to accrue pension if you become occupationally disabled

In the first 2 years that you are ill, your employer continues to pay your salary. Your pension accrual also continues as normal. After 2 years, the UWV assesses whether you can still work or are partly or fully occupationally disabled. Then 2 things change:

  • You receive a (WIA) benefit from the UWV.
  • We accrue pension for you, at our expense, for the part you are occupationally disabled. This continues until you reach state pension age (AOW).

Sometimes there is also a supplement to your income

Did you earn more than €79,409 gross per year (2026 amount)? Then you may also receive an occupational disability pension from us. You only receive this if your employer or sector has agreed this with us.

Are you occupationally disabled?

In the new pension, we also accrue pension for you at our expense. Do you receive an occupational disability pension? In the new pension, you will receive this as well.
